The Chic Chic Kingdom” is a children’s book I wrote for my granddaughters when they were young. I published it on Kindle Direct Publishing, and it is available to read with a Kindle membership. It has some good facts about chickens that follows up on the post that I made about Raising Chickens for Eggs & Meat. The pictures I took of our chickens and the facts I observed from watching our chickens. My husband’s hobby was raising chickens and birds. He raised Canary birds in his special bird room inside the house and built a chicken house on the side of the garage for the chickens. When we did move out of the city to the country, he would sit under the shade tree and watch his chickens in their big yard with a barn. We had goats also I will tell you about them another day.

Please read a short excerpt from the book below then use the link to go to Amazon and read the Kindle Edition.

The Red Rooster

Let me tell you a story about a red rooster named Bochon. He lives in the city and is king of the Chick-Chick Kingdom.

In the Chick-Chick Kingdom there are 6 red hens, 1 white hen and Bochon the king. All live together happily except the one white hen. You could say she has an attitude problem but really, I think she is number one in the pecking order. She does not like to share the nice juicy worms in the yard. She gets the first and best of everything or she pecks the other hens.”
